The main incentives for having a Roth IRA is:

  • One does not pay taxes on the interest made.
  • The money is not taxed when it is taken out.
    • This feature allows one to adjust ones yearly income to change one tax bracket when in retirement.
  • Maximum amount of deposit a year are $4,000
  • The ability to withdraw money in the account without and penalties. (One can not withdraw the interest made until they are 59 1/2)
