To write a letter to my Congressperson describing that this constituent wants of energy independence. Describe some solutions that could be done.

Customer Sell Power back to Grid

Quote from wikipedi: "To spur growth of their renewable energy market, Germany has adopted an extreme form of net metering, whereby customers get paid 8 times what the power company charges them for any surplus they supply back to the grid. That large premium has made a huge demand in solar panels for that area."

Leasing of Rooftop

The local power companies would lease homeowners roof tops to place solar panels on them. The power generated from these panels would go directly into the power grid.

Leasing of Solar Panels

Setup a solar panel leasing program. The power company would install a solar panel grid on a customer's home. The customer would pay their normal power bill, but instead of the money going directly to the power company it would go toward buying their solar panel grid. After the grid was payed for the customer would sell any extra power that was produced and would not have to pay for power.

At the beginning of this program their would not be great incentives for the customer because the current price of the solar grid would take over 30 years to pay off. The customer is only losing the access to their roof. The customer could pay more than their normal power bill to buy off the solar panel grid faster.

Normal Home Power Bills

  • mine $65 month $0.13 per kWatt

Solar Panel Grid Cost

Wikipedia quote: With many jurisdictions now giving tax and rebate incentives, and/or net metering solar electric power can now pay for itself in ten to twenty years in a few places.

Brining Electric Cars

Selling of Individuals Electric to Power Companies

Investing in Governmental Solar Panels

The more purchased the more prices will decrease. Trying to make all government building run on one hundred percent solar power.

New Companies Building solar power

Place a restriction on any companies building any new complexes. That all the power to that complex must have half of its roof covered in solar panels or that %50 of its power use must be from that building's generated solar power

New Home Construction

Place a restriction on new home built. All new home built must run on at least %30 of its own generated solar power. The restriction would only be placed on homes of $700,000 and over.
